Comfort Season Has Arrived
There comes a point every fall in Lake Tahoe when you’re officially ready to trade the salad for something warm and the light summer fare for a meal that requires absolutely no convincing. Good news; Chef Dave got the memo.
Tahoe Beach Club’s seasonal menu has officially changed at Starboard Bar & Grille, and the lighter flavors of summer are giving way to the warm, comforting dishes we start craving as soon as the temperatures drop. And, perhaps most importantly, Chef Dave’s delicious featured soups are back because nothing says fall at Tahoe quite like walking into the Club on a chilly day and finding out what’s simmering in the kitchen.
There really is something special about this time of year. Summer is all about lingering outside, watching the lake, and squeezing every last minute out of those long Tahoe evenings. As the temperatures drop, everyone starts moving indoors, and Starboard Bar and Grille becomes a little more intimate. Members stop to say hello at each other’s tables, conversations stretch a little longer, and sometimes separate dinner plans turn into pulling up a chair and breaking bread together. It’s one of those small things that makes the Club feel less like a place you go for dinner and more like a community folks are a part of.
So, I had a chance to try a few of the new additions with fellow members, and Chef Dave got two very enthusiastic thumbs up. The roasted brussels sprouts with pomegranate seeds is already a personal favorite, and the chicken parmesan with orzo pasta? All I can say is…delish. It’s exactly the kind of cozy dinner that feels right when fall settles into Tahoe.
But…I have to give a special shoutout to a returning favorite from last year: the turkey pot pie with crumbled biscuit topping. Oh, how I’ve missed you. The pot pie may just be the ultimate Tahoe comfort food. And once ski season arrives, there’s no better way to end a day on the mountain than heading to the Club and ordering one.
Yep, the new fall and winter menu at Starboard Bar & Grille is officially giving us another reason to embrace the colder months at Tahoe Beach Club.
Now there’s just one piece of the seasonal puzzle missing…the winter mixology menu.
We’re waiting with bated breath. Stay tuned.
