A Little Dust Now. A Better Drive Ahead.
If you've driven into Tahoe Beach Club lately, you've probably noticed that the road looks a little different. Okay, a lot different.
Between the dirt, construction equipment, and occasional traffic delays, getting to the Club has required a little extra patience lately. We know it's not exactly the welcome-home experience anyone is accustomed to, and we appreciate everyone bearing with the construction.
The good news? There's a much better road ahead. Literally.
The Kahle Drive improvement project is making progress, and while things may look a little messy right now, the work underway will bring some welcome improvements to the neighborhood.
So, When Does the Paving Start?
According to the current project schedule, paving is expected to begin toward the end of October. To help keep things moving, the contractor will also work on Saturdays through at least the completion of paving..
Most importantly, access to all properties will be maintained throughout construction. You may need to allow a little extra time for the drive, but you'll still be able to get where you need to go.
More Than Just a New Road
While the fresh pavement will certainly be a welcome sight, there's more happening along Kahle Drive than meets the eye.
The project also includes an extension of the existing bike path, continuing alongside Kahle Drive to the water quality basins. In addition, a new sidewalk is also funded for the south side of Kahle Drive, extending from Laura Drive to the end of the bike path extension. The project is being designed with additional space to accommodate future sidewalk connections in both directions.
And there's some behind-the-scenes work happening, too. Crews are installing portions of the electrical infrastructure needed for future roadway lighting. Additional funding is being pursued through grants to help complete the remaining sidewalk and lighting improvements.
In other words, this isn't simply about putting down new asphalt. It's about making meaningful improvements to a roadway we use regularly.
We know construction isn't anyone's favorite part of the day, especially when it's happening along the road you travel to get home, head to dinner at Starboard, or spend an afternoon at the Club.
But we're getting closer to the part everyone has been waiting for.
We'll continue sharing updates as the project progresses. In the meantime, thank you for your patience and willingness to navigate dust while these improvements take shape.
