Rolling the Dice for a Cleaner Lake

What a night! Our third annual Alpenglow event was one for the books, and this year we took things to a whole new level with our very first Casino Night. From the moment the doors opened it was standing room only, yes, the energy was Vegas electric. Guests packed around the craps tables, tried their luck at roulette, went all in on blackjack and poker, and every single buy-in went straight to supporting Clean Up the Lake. You could say it was one fun game night!

As for Clean Up the Lake, they aren’t your average nonprofit. The organization combines data collection, environmental science, and scuba research dives to reveal a hidden problem beneath Tahoe’s sparkling surface: submerged litter. To tackle it, they dive deep (literally), hauling trash out of the lake while also implementing smarter litter prevention strategies: think shoreline signage, youth education, incredible art sculptures made from recovered litter, and awareness campaigns that reach far beyond the shoreline. They even perform aquatic invasive species surveillance and report to state and federal agencies to keep Tahoe protected for generations to come.

And while we were rolling dice and bidding high, we were also making a real impact. The live art auction was another highlight, with pieces selling for over $7,000! Although the final numbers aren’t in yet, we’re confident this year’s event will top last year’s donation dollars,  thanks to an amazing community that knows how to have fun while giving back.

Casino Night is officially a Tahoe Beach Club Alpenglow staple. Judging by the laughter and nonstop buzz all evening, this is one tradition you won’t want to miss next year. With Lake Tahoe as our backdrop, it doesn’t get much better, having fun while taking care of the lake we love.

Stay tuned for next year’s date… and don’t wait too long to grab your spot. If this year was any indication, the tables will be hot, the auction fierce, and the house will always win when it comes to protecting Lake Tahoe.
Thank you again to our amazing members!
