In Loving Memory of Jasper
It is with deep sadness we share the passing of Jasper, our beloved club mascot and the namesake of Jasper’s Place. For more than a decade, Jasper embodied the warmth, kindness, and spirit that define Tahoe Beach Club. His loss leaves an empty space in our community, but his love and legacy will remain.
When the Club first opened, our General Manager, Kevin Speer, wanted the pool and beach snack bar to have a name that carried real meaning, something that reflected the heart and soul of our community. The answer came easily from the staff. The name would be Jasper’s Place. Why you ask? Well, Jasper was no ordinary dog. Adopted years ago by Caryn and Stan Wilson, founding residents and members of Tahoe Beach Club, he had already lived a life of service as a therapy dog. Even in “retirement,” his work never stopped. Each day, Jasper made his rounds, greeting members with his gentle eyes and wagging tail, stopping by the front desk for his well-earned treat. His calming presence seemed to bring people together, reminding us that community can be built one warm welcome at a time.
Jasper’s influence went far beyond the naming of the snack bar. His presence sparked some of the Club’s most beloved traditions. Dogs on the Deck began as a simple idea, an evening where members could bring their pups to the deck for light bites, drinks, and good company. It quickly became a favorite, filled with wagging tails, laughter, and the easy companionship that makes this place feel like home. That joy eventually blossomed into Yappy Hour, a beachside celebration where dogs could roam off-leash, enjoy pumpkin and fresh cream pup cups, and play alongside their humans. It was an event made for pure happiness, and Jasper was always at the center of it.
In honor of Jasper, the flag at the clubhouse is lowered. We extend our deepest condolences to Caryn and Stan Wilson, who gave Jasper a life filled with love and whose loss is felt deeply by all of us.Jasper will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. Every time we gather for Yappy Hour, and every time we welcome someone to Jasper’s Place, we will remember the golden retriever who made this place feel like home. Rest easy, sweet Jasper. You’ve left pawprints on all our hearts. 🐾
